FAQ's

Ans.1 Precipitation-hardening stainless steel contains aluminum, copper and titanium as alloying agents. It gets its name from the solution and aging heat treatment, giving these alloys a higher tensile strength than other classes.

Ans.2 Stainless steel is a clean, durable, corrosion resistant material with a design life expectancy of over fifty years.

Ans.3 Austenitic stainless steels such as 304 or 316 contain high amounts of nickel and chromium. Chromium combines with oxygen before iron is able to form a chromium oxide layer. This layer is very corrosion resistant which prevents rust from forming and protects the underlying metal.

Ans.4 The green color that you see on stainless steel parts is chromium oxide (Cr2O3). It forms when there is too much oxygen and/or moisture.

Ans.5 That means their chemical composition contains iron. In most cases, stainless steel varieties with iron in their composition are magnetic. If the alloy has an austenitic crystal structure, then it's not magnetic.
